Hyundai Tucson: Airbag Module / Curtain Airbag (CAB) Module

- Description Curtain airbags are installed inside the headliner (LH and RH) and protect the the heads of the front seat occupants and the rear outboard seat occupants from danger when side crash occurs. The SRSCM determines deployment of curtain airbag by using side impact sensor (SIS) signal.

   

• Never attempt to measure the circuit resistance of the airbag module even if you are using the specified tester. If the circuit resistance is measured with a tester, accidental airbag deployment will result in serious personal injury.

- Removal

1. isconnect the battery negative terminal.

   

• After disconnecting the cables, wait at least 3 minutes.

2.Remove the roof trim.(Refer to Body - "Roof Trim Assembly")

3.Disconnect the connector (A) from the curtain Airbag module.

4.Remove the curtain airbag module (A) after loosening the bolt and nut.

Tightening torque :Bolt : 7.8 - 11.8 N.m (0.8 - 1.2 kgf.m, 5.8 - 8.7 lb-ft)Nut : 3.9 - 5.9 N.m (0.4 - 0.6 kgf.m, 2.9 - 4.4 lb-ft)

- Installation

1.Install in the reverse order of removal.

2.After installing the airbag module, confirm proper system operation.

   

• Switch ON the ignition. The SRS indicator light should turn on for about three-six seconds and then off.
