Hyundai Tucson: Smart Cruise Control Operation / Smart Cruise Control conditions not met

If the Driving Assist button, the +/- switch, or the button is pushed when Smart Cruise Control’s operating conditions are not met, the "Smart Cruise Control conditions not met" message appears on the instrument cluster, and an audible warning sounds.

In traffic situation

In traffic, your vehicle stops if the vehicle ahead of you stops. Also, if the vehicle ahead of you starts moving, your vehicle starts moving as well. In addition, after your vehicle has stopped and a certain amount of time has passed, the "Use switch or pedal to accelerate" message appears on the instrument cluster. Depress the accelerator pedal or push the +/- switch or button to start driving.

WARNING

While the message appears on the instrument cluster, if there is no vehicle in front or the vehicle is far away from you, and the +/– switch or button is pushed, Smart Cruise Control is automatically canceled and EPB is applied. If the accelerator pedal is depressed, EPB is not applied even though the function is canceled.
