Hyundai Tucson: Engine And Transaxle Assembly / Engine Mounting

- Components

1. Engine mounting support bracket
2. Engine mounting bracket
3. Transaxle mounting bracket
4. Roll road bracket

- Removal and Installation

   

• Be careful not to damage the parts located under the vehicle (floor under cover, fuel filter, fuel tank and canister) when raising the vehicle using the lift.(Refer to General Information - "Lift and Support Points")

Roll road bracket

1.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Transaxle assembly - "Engine room under cover")

2.Remove the roll rod bracket (A).

Tightening torque :Bolt (B) : 49.0 - 63.7 N.m (5.0 - 6.5 kgf.m, 36.1 - 47.0 Ib.ft)Bolt (C) : 107.8 - 127.4 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.5 - 94.0 Ib.ft)

   

Replace the bolt (C) with a new one or reuse it after applying the adhesive (3M 2353) on the area marked with gray of bolt.

3.Remove the roll rod mounting support bracket (A).

Tightening torque :49.0 - 68.6 N.m (5.0 - 7.0 kgf.m, 36.1 - 50.6 Ib.ft)

4.Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Engine Mounting Bracket

1.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine and transaxle assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

2.Install the jack to the edge of oil pan to support the engine.

   

Put the rubber block between the jack and oil pan to avoid damaging the oil pan.

3.Remove the engine mounting support bracket (A).

Tightening torque :Bolt, Nuts (B,C) : 88.2 - 107.8 N.m (9.0 - 11.0 kgf.m, 65.0 - 79.5 lb-ft)

4.Remove the reservoir tank(Refer to Cooling system - "Revervoir Tank")

5.Remove the engine mounting bracket (A).

Tightening torque :63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)

6.Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

Transaxle Mounting Bracket

1.Remove the air duct and air cleaner assembly.(Refer to Intake and Exhaust System - "Air Cleaner")

2.Remove the battery and tray.(Refer to Engine Electrical System - "Battery")

3.Remove the engine room under cover.(Refer to Engine amd Transaxle Assembly - "Engine Room Under Cover")

4.Install the jack under the transaxle to support.

   

• Install the jack under the transaxle to support.

5.Remove the LH front wheel guard.(Refer to Body(Interior and Exterior) - "Front Wheel Guard")

6.Remove the transaxle support bracket mounting bolts (A).

Tightening torque : 107.8 - 127.4 N.m (11.0 - 13.0 kgf.m, 79.5 - 94.0 Ib.ft)

7.Remove the Transaxle mounting bracket (A).

Tightening torque : 63.7 - 83.4 N.m (6.5 - 8.5 kgf.m, 47.0 - 61.5 lb-ft)

8.Installation is in the reverse order of removal.
